The Mission
MANUP, which stands for Mentor A Newbie Until Proficient, helps new motorcyclists, and their mentors, join traffic on the roads safely.
There seems to be a gap in today's motorcycle training. This information website will help new riders, and their mentors, address the gaps between basic motorcycle training and a variety of street levels.
While a new rider can adapt to street competency on their own, most will occasionally ride with others for added input, experience, tips and safety. The following pages help riders getting out on their own, as well as those working with others, to adapt.
The content here also aids anyone wishing to work with new riders, whether these helpers ride or not. And while mentoring can be done from a three or four wheeled vehicle, it is usually best done from the back of another motorcycle.
The information offered on this website is presented solely to provide strategies and support. The author is not responsible for actions taken by the readers. It provides useful, helpful ideas that can lead to safer street adaptation on a motorcycle. So read, get ideas and ride on!
